Meet your gastroenterologist
Consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Advanced Endoscopist — founder and lead specialist at GastroCare Hospital.
Dr Talele completed his MBBS at BJ Medical College, Pune, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine and a DNB in Gastroenterology. He spent five years in training and clinical practice at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad — one of India’s largest dedicated gastroenterology centres — receiving structured training in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), including advanced third-space endoscopy procedures.
He has performed more than 20,000 endoscopic procedures. His clinical focus is accurate diagnosis first, clear explanation of what is actually happening, and treatment that avoids unnecessary tests and unnecessary surgery wherever an endoscopic option is appropriate.
Procedures & diagnostics
GastroCare Hospital performs both routine and advanced endoscopic work on site, so referral patients from across Marathwada can be assessed, treated and followed up in one place.
Examination of the food pipe, stomach and duodenum to investigate pain, reflux, vomiting, difficulty swallowing and upper GI bleeding. Biopsies and therapeutic measures can be performed in the same sitting.
Examination of the large bowel for bleeding, chronic diarrhoea, anaemia and colorectal cancer screening, with polyp removal and biopsy where needed.
Advanced endoscopic treatment for common bile duct stones, obstructive jaundice, bile leaks, strictures and pancreatic duct problems — usually without open surgery.
High-resolution ultrasound from inside the gut to characterise pancreatic masses, cysts, bile duct narrowing and lymph nodes, with fine-needle sampling when indicated.
Transient elastography to measure liver stiffness and steatosis — a quick, painless clinic test used to stage fatty liver, hepatitis and cirrhosis.
Urgent endoscopic assessment of haematemesis, melaena and occult blood loss, with band ligation, glue injection and other haemostasis techniques.
Conditions we manage
If your symptom is on this list, an early specialist review usually settles both the diagnosis and the treatment plan in very few visits.
Hospital facilities & patient-care approach
The facility is designed around one need: making endoscopic diagnosis and treatment safe, comfortable and efficient for patients who often travel from outside the city.
Procedure rooms equipped for diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy and advanced pancreaticobiliary work, with continuous patient monitoring.
Non-invasive liver stiffness and fat measurement in the clinic, so fatty liver, hepatitis and cirrhosis can be staged without a liver biopsy in most patients.
A quiet recovery bay with privacy curtains and monitoring until the sedation wears off and you are fit to be discharged with written instructions.
Cross-sectional imaging is arranged in coordination with partner diagnostic centres for liver, pancreas and biliary disease, so staging and planning are not delayed.
Observation and short-stay beds for patients who need monitoring after a procedure or during treatment of acute GI bleeding and pancreatitis.
Rapid liver function tests, complete blood counts, coagulation and biochemistry to support safe endoscopy and to track treatment response.
Patient education
These articles are written for patients and families, in plain language, and reviewed by the treating clinician. They are general information — not a substitute for personal medical advice.
Liver health
Fatty liver is common in Maharashtra and often found on a routine ultrasound. Here is how it is graded, what FibroScan adds, and which changes genuinely reverse it.
Procedure guide
Most failed colonoscopies are preparation failures. This is the diet, the timing and the common mistakes to avoid the day before your test.
Symptoms
Gastrointestinal bleeding can be serious. Recognising the warning signs early makes endoscopic treatment simpler and safer.
Liver health
Both infections are manageable — and hepatitis C can be cured. What the tests mean and who needs treatment.
Procedure guide
Fasting rules, your regular medicines, sedation, and how to plan the rest of your day after the procedure.
Digestive health
Why a silent gallstone often needs nothing, and why a stone stuck in the bile duct needs urgent ERCP instead.
Location & appointments
Outpatient consultation, endoscopy and FibroScan are available on scheduled days. Please request an appointment before travelling so your reports can be reviewed in advance.

Frequently asked questions
Walk-in patients are seen where possible, but waiting times are unpredictable and procedures such as endoscopy and FibroScan are scheduled in advance. We recommend requesting an appointment by phone, WhatsApp or the enquiry form so that your slot is reserved and your previous reports can be reviewed before you arrive.
No. A request submitted through the website, WhatsApp or email is an enquiry only. It becomes a confirmed appointment only after the hospital’s team contacts you and confirms the date and time. Please do not travel long distances on the basis of an unconfirmed request.
Consultations and procedures at GastroCare Hospital are led by Dr Rahul Talele, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist (MBBS; MD Internal Medicine; DNB Gastroenterology), who trained and worked for five years at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad. You can read his full profile here.
Most upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy at GastroCare Hospital are performed under sedation, so patients are comfortable and usually have little or no memory of the procedure. The level of sedation is decided by the endoscopist based on your age, weight, other illnesses and the type of procedure planned. You will be monitored throughout and observed in the recovery area afterwards.
You will be given written instructions when your appointment is confirmed. In general, upper GI endoscopy requires fasting for about 6–8 hours, while colonoscopy requires a specific low-fibre diet and bowel-preparation solution the day before. Always tell us about blood thinners, insulin, diabetes medicines and any allergies before the procedure.
See our guides: preparing for endoscopy and colonoscopy preparation.
Yes. A large part of our work is referral care for patients travelling from Jalna, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani, Latur, Dharashiv (Osmanabad) and other districts of Marathwada. Where possible we group consultation, investigations and the procedure to reduce the number of trips you need to make — please mention that you are travelling from outside the city when you enquire.
Please bring all previous prescriptions, discharge summaries, ultrasound, CT or MRI reports and films, blood test results, endoscopy or colonoscopy reports and biopsy reports. A list of your current medicines — including anything bought over the counter or herbal — is also very helpful. Please bring your identity and insurance documents if you plan to use them.
WhatsApp is used only to arrange appointments and share administrative information such as appointment timings and preparation instructions. We do not provide diagnoses, report interpretation or prescription changes over WhatsApp, and no guaranteed response time applies to clinical questions. For medical concerns, please book a consultation.
Gastrointestinal bleeding — vomiting blood, black tarry stools or sudden severe weakness with a low blood count — needs urgent assessment. Please call the hospital on (phone) before arriving so the team can prepare, or go to the nearest emergency department if you are unable to reach us. Do not delay care while waiting for a reply to a message.
Clinical service descriptions on this site reflect the hospital’s scope of work. Contact details, exact timings and the full list of verified credentials, memberships and publications are being confirmed with the hospital and will be published once verified. We do not publish awards, success rates or patient testimonials that have not been verified.
Describe your symptoms and share your reports — our team will guide you to the right consultation or test and explain what to expect.
